Tweety Weaned
Well Tweety has decided he was tired of the formula.. or waiting to be fed.. he is now eating seeds on his own.. and I was worried about the weaning process, being the 1st time for me. I went to a good bird store and the woman was very helpfull in giving me what I needed to get him weaned but I was told I needed to mix the stuff with water and put in a dish on the bottom of his cage. I never got to that point I had left a dish of seed in his cage and he just started on his own.

Tweety Take Flight
Tweety took flight today so wings got clipped this is at 40 days old. Just about all of his feathers have grown out.. there are still a few bald spots on his wings. For some reason his father plucked out the feathers on his wing and broke ALL of his flight feathers to the point that some were bleeding. Does anyone know why his father would have done that? I thought that maybe it was because Tweety may be a male and his father didn't want the competition.

Cockatiel Stuff
Cockatiel Stuff I currently have 3 cockatiels a male named Stanley and a female named Kiwi. They just had a new baby we have named Tweety who today is 37 days old.. I have been currently hand feeding him 1st to learn how and second to get Tweety away from Stanley who had been breaking and pulling out all Tweety's feathers. Feeding Tweety has become a real treat for me.
